1. Products and Services

JEDA Surfboards designs, manufactures and offers surfboards, custom surfboards, surf accessories and related products and services.

Product descriptions, dimensions, volumes, photographs, graphics and specifications are provided as accurately as reasonably possible. Because surfboards are manufactured and finished through a combination of digital and hands-on processes, minor variations may occur between boards.

2. Custom Surfboard Requests

Customers may request modifications to an existing JEDA model or work with us on a more personalized surfboard configuration.

Information used to develop a custom board may include the surfer’s height, weight, surfing level, surfing style, preferred dimensions, desired volume, intended waves, tail shape, construction, fin system, glassing preferences, artwork and other specifications.

Submitting a custom surfboard request through the website does not by itself create a confirmed order or require payment.

An order becomes confirmed only after the final specifications, price and production terms have been agreed upon and the required deposit has been received.

3. Approval of Specifications

Before production begins, the customer is responsible for reviewing and approving the agreed surfboard specifications.

These may include:

  • Model
  • Length, width and thickness
  • Estimated volume
  • Tail design
  • Construction
  • Fin configuration and fin system
  • Glassing
  • Carbon reinforcement
  • Color and artwork
  • Other agreed custom details

Once production has begun, changes may not be possible or may result in additional charges, production delays or the need to restart part of the manufacturing process.

4. Deposits and Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, custom surfboard orders require a 50% deposit to confirm the order and reserve a production slot.

The remaining 50% balance is due when the surfboard is completed and ready for pickup, delivery or shipment.

Available payment methods will be communicated before payment is requested. Any applicable fees, shipping charges, taxes or other agreed costs will be disclosed before the transaction is finalized.

The person completing an electronic transaction should be authorized to use the selected payment method.

5. Production Time

A typical custom surfboard production schedule is approximately two weeks, but production times are estimates and may vary according to workload, materials, complexity, artwork, construction, curing requirements or other circumstances.

Where a specific completion or delivery date is agreed upon, that date will form part of the individual order agreement.

Customers traveling to El Salvador are encouraged to order more than two weeks before arrival whenever possible.

6. Curing Time

Surfboard resin systems continue to cure after the board has been manufactured.

Whenever possible, we recommend allowing additional curing time before heavy use. A very fresh surfboard may be more susceptible to pressure marks or impact damage while the resin system continues reaching its final hardness.

Recommended curing time does not replace or reduce any warranty or consumer rights provided by applicable law.

7. Handmade Manufacturing Tolerances

JEDA Surfboards combines digital design and precision shaping with hand finishing, glassing, sanding and final inspection.

Minor variations in finished dimensions, color, artwork placement, sanding, resin appearance, fiberglass or other handmade characteristics may occur and are part of normal surfboard manufacturing.

Such minor variations do not automatically constitute a defect when they do not materially affect the agreed function or performance of the board.

8. Pickup in El Salvador

Unless another arrangement has been agreed upon, completed surfboards may be picked up at:

Papaya Surf Shop
Carretera Litoral, Km. 42
Playa El Tunco, Tamanique
La Libertad, El Salvador

The customer should inspect the board at pickup and notify us promptly of any visible issue.

9. Shipping and Delivery

When shipping or delivery is offered, available methods, costs and estimated timeframes will be communicated before the order is finalized.

Any shipping charge, packaging charge or other delivery-related cost will be disclosed to the customer before payment.

Responsibility for loss or damage during shipping will be addressed according to the applicable shipping arrangement, carrier terms and consumer protection laws.

10. Cancellations, Refunds and Reversal of Payments

Requests to cancel or modify a surfboard order should be submitted as soon as possible.

For custom-made products, the production stage, materials already used and work already completed may affect what changes or cancellation arrangements are reasonably available, subject at all times to applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any mandatory right of withdrawal, refund, reversal of payment or other consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

Where applicable under Salvadoran consumer protection law, payment reversal may be requested in circumstances such as:

  • The purchased product is not delivered.
  • The product does not correspond to what was ordered.
  • The product is defective.
  • There is an incorrect charge caused by a third-party payment system.
  • Any other circumstance in which reversal or refund is required by applicable law.

11. Warranty and Manufacturing Defects

JEDA Surfboards stands behind the quality of its manufacturing.

If you believe your surfboard has a manufacturing defect, contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide photographs, order information and a description of the issue.

Each claim will be reviewed according to the circumstances, the condition of the product and applicable warranty and consumer protection requirements.

12. Damage Not Caused by Manufacturing

Surfboards are performance products and may be damaged during normal use.

Subject to applicable consumer law, manufacturing warranty coverage generally does not extend to damage resulting from causes such as:

  • Impact with rocks, reef, vehicles or other objects
  • Airline, baggage or transportation damage
  • Improper storage or excessive heat exposure
  • Water entry following unrepaired damage
  • Pressure dents or normal wear resulting from surfing
  • Unauthorized modifications or repairs
  • Accidents, misuse or neglect

13. Traveling Surfers Program

Traveling surfers may pre-order a JEDA surfboard before arriving in El Salvador and arrange pickup at Papaya Surf Shop in Playa El Tunco.

Production dates and estimated pickup dates will be communicated during the ordering process. Customers are encouraged to provide sufficient lead time before their arrival.

Travel arrangements, airline schedules and other external circumstances remain the responsibility of the customer.

14. Optional Resale or Buyback

If a traveling customer decides not to take a surfboard home after use, JEDA Surfboards or Papaya Surf Shop may, in certain cases, discuss possible resale assistance or a potential buyback.

This is not a guaranteed service.

Any resale or buyback arrangement will depend on factors including the board’s condition, age, model, demand and inspection at the time the request is made.

Any price or arrangement must be mutually agreed upon separately.

15. Fins and Accessories

Fins, traction pads, leashes and other accessories may be sold separately from surfboards unless specifically included in an order or quotation.

Customers should verify compatibility of fin systems and accessories before purchase. Our team can assist with product selection when requested.

16. Prices

Prices may change from time to time due to materials, construction, customization, currency, supplier costs or other business factors.

A confirmed individual order will use the price agreed upon for that order unless the customer later requests changes that affect cost.

Any additional charge resulting from a requested change will be communicated before proceeding.

17. Intellectual Property and Surfboard Designs

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, JEDA Surfboards retains its intellectual property rights in its proprietary surfboard models, digital designs, graphics, logos, photographs, website content and brand materials.

Purchase of a physical surfboard does not transfer ownership of the underlying digital design, CNC file, CAD file or other proprietary manufacturing information.

JEDA trademarks, logos and branding may not be reproduced or used commercially without authorization.

18. Reference Images and Customer Artwork

Customers may submit photographs, artwork, logos or other reference material when requesting a custom surfboard.

By providing such material, the customer confirms that they have the right to provide and use it for the requested purpose.

JEDA Surfboards reserves the right to decline artwork or content that may infringe third-party rights or that we cannot reasonably reproduce.

21. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, JEDA Surfboards is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including airline handling, travel disruption, improper use, third-party services or unauthorized modifications to a product.

22. Privacy

Personal information submitted through this website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

23. Consumer Rights

These Terms & Conditions are intended to operate consistently with applicable consumer protection law.

Nothing contained in these terms is intended to waive, restrict or replace any consumer right that cannot legally be waived or limited.

24. Changes to These Terms

JEDA Surfboards may update these Terms & Conditions when our website, products, business practices or legal requirements change.

The current version will be published on this page together with the date of the latest update.
