El Sunzal – Performance Hybrid

Bottom Contours:
A single concave transitions into double concave through the rear of the board, creating a combination of speed, lift, and control. The larger planing surface helps the board maintain momentum through flatter sections, while the double concave adds responsiveness and makes rail-to-rail transitions easier when the wave begins to stand up.

Outline & Rails:
A compact, stretched outline blends midlength-style glide with a more performance-oriented feel. Beveled rails reduce the effective thickness through the rail line, helping the board engage more easily and allowing quicker direction changes without sacrificing the volume and paddle power carried through the center.

Tail:
The rounded pin tail provides smooth control and a clean release through turns. It offers enough hold to push through more powerful sections while remaining loose enough to redirect quickly when surfing closer to the pocket.

Performance:
El Sunzal can be surfed in two very different ways. Step forward and take advantage of its glide and planing surface to trim effortlessly through slower sections, or move onto the tail and engage the rails for a more responsive, shortboard-style approach. The result is a board that feels fast and efficient without becoming difficult to turn.

Best Conditions:
Ideal for point breaks, reefs, and open-faced waves with long lines and variable sections. El Sunzal excels in conditions where maintaining speed is important, especially waves that transition between softer shoulders and steeper turning sections.

Wave Catching:
The added surface area and volume provide excellent paddle power, helping the board enter waves early and increasing wave count without making the board feel oversized once you are on your feet.
